As NPR’s youngest political reporter, I spent the last year leading the coverage of former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial for the network in print and on air from inside the courthouse. My work covered politics out of the White House, Congress and the 2024 election on air and in print. I am a Co-founder of Voces Internship of Idaho, a journalism internship program and nonprofit based in Idaho. Before joining NPR, I was an award-winning policy reporter at POLITICO and author of the Morning and Weekly Agriculture newsletters. As an ag reporter I cover immigration, climate, labor, supply chain and equity issues and policies daily. Previously at POLITICO, I worked as a legislative reporter on our legislative tracking team analyzing bills related to agriculture, trade, cannnabis, education and spending. Former breaking news reporter for the Idaho Statesman, award-winning journalist and editor for The Arbiter and production specialist of E.W. Scripps at KIVI Idaho News 6, the Boise area ABC affiliate. Selected as a POLITICO Journalism Institute participant, POLITICO intern in 2020 and Washington Times newsroom intern for summer 2019. I have experience in a wide variety of beats including climate, education, local government, agriculture and public safety coverage at a local and national level. While at the Idaho Statesman, I helped spearhead the state's Spanish-language coronavirus news coverage through articles and public web forums. I look for any opportunity to make my work multimedia including working with audio, video and data.
