I am working as a Sports Writer at the Deseret News, a newspaper based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’ve been at Deseret for eight years and have written about almost every sport that can be found in Utah, including: football, basketball, baseball, soccer, women’s gymnastics, volleyball, softball, wrestling, drill, cross country and rodeo.I’ve dealt with agate, InDesign, statistical databases, multiple content management systems, most recently Chorus and Brightspot. I’ve done newsletters, breaking news, investigative reporting, long form features and daily beat coverage.I’ve utilized analytics via Parse.ly and Google to curate content to what readers want, locally, nationally and internationally.
