Claim your profileI am an international journalist with an outstanding reputation gained from 20 years experience in high-pressure roles. With a focus on investigations, humanitarian emergencies and foreign reportage, I write serious and engaging stories and dispatches for the front pages. My work has recently appeared in the Daily Telegraph's Global Health Security section, The Observer, The New European and Law.com International. I was shortlisted for the UK Press Awards for eight consecutive years, which included winning Feature Writer of the Year in 2014, and three nominations for Environment Reporter of the Year. In 2017 I was awarded the Features Journalism accolade at the British Journalism Awards and the International Press category in Italy’s coveted Premio Luchetta. From 2016 to 2022 I was Special Correspondent on the print edition of the Daily Mirror. I authored two acclaimed non-fiction books, one of which was shortlisted for the UK Travel Book of the Year. More recently, I was a production consultant on the Channel 4 three-part documentary series Murder in the Alps following the publication of my true crime book.Since 2021 I have been a visiting lecturer on the MA International Journalism course at City University, conducting seminars and supervision for students during magazine production, core assignments and their final project.I am a copywriter and editor for a leading London PR agency.Working in close co-operation with international NGOs since 2005, I have conducted bespoke training courses providing best practice expertise on press releases, photographs, journalist trips and media spokespersons. World Vision, Tearfund, the Red Cross and Save The Children have been among the charities to seek my expertise. I developed the Daily Mirror Christmas campaign for British families struggling during the Covid-19 pandemic, and worked closely with both Save the Children and Y Care International on other crucial appeals. Following my work with the FIA Foundation on road traffic accidents in rapidly growing cities in low-income countries, I was a panellist at a recent conference in Nairobi. I have also been a guest speaker at other high-profile events. I volunteer on the Corporate and Major Donor Committee for the international medical charity CLEFT.
