Claim your profileThomas Obungen is the Associate Editor of HONOLULU Magazine and its food blog, Frolic Hawai‘i. He is passionate about sharing the unique and delicious finds he comes across in his daily life and travels. As the Content Strategy Manager for aio Marketing and Communications, he is responsible for conceptualizing rich and engaging content across various digital platforms. From social media to email and guerrilla marketing, his strategies build and strengthen relationships, foster growth and increase sales. He focuses part of his time on exploring new technologies and platforms for creatives to push the envelope on what is possible in the realm of marketing and media. Prior to joining Frolic Hawai‘i in 2015, Thomas spent two years in Los Angeles, working in various marketing positions in tech. During this time, he developed a passion for exploring neighborhoods on foot and sharing delicious finds along the way. He enjoys shining his light on the small businesses and restaurants that feed people out of the love of hospitality. In his off time, he enjoys long walks, lei-making, Lego building, cooking and tanning at the beach. Travel is a priority and one of his goals is to visit each prefecture in Japan.
