Terry has worked in many aspects of journalism: writing, copy editing, page design and management. She has written everything from general news and features to sports and obituaries. She was the first female reporter to conduct a locker room interview following a California League game while covering the Salinas Angels minor league baseball team. After her flirtation with sportswriting, Terry moved into design with Adweek Magazine, first in Los Angeles, then moving to Boston to help open the magazine's New England edition. Terry then returned to Los Angeles to work as a copy editor at the Daily News, later moving to the news desk as a page designer. She kept her hand in writing by reviewing children's books for the feature section. After a sojourn as the Graphics Design Editor of the Antelope Valley Press, Terry joined Variety, first as a copy editor, then a copy editor-designer and currently Senior Production Editor, overseeing editorial production of the weekly magazine. She continues to write about animation and other topics.
