Claim your profileI am a broadcast meteorologist with 12 years of experience preparing and communicating reliable weather forecasts. I have experience forecasting a wide variety of weather from mountain snow to hurricanes to tornado outbreaks. The American Meteorological Society recognizes me as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, a title given to those who meet established criteria for scientific competence and effective communication skills in their weather presentations. Thanks to my experience in the news industry, I am comfortable working on sharp deadlines and in stressful situations. I am a skilled user of The Weather Company's Max weather graphics software. I also have previous experience as a multimedia journalist shooting and editing video for news content. In 2022, I was awarded in Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Award for my contribution to the station's severe weather special - Iowa's Forces of Nature. My recent experience as a Chief Meteorologist has expanded my ability to manage and cultivate a winning culture. I established new protocol to improve communication amongst the weather team members. Along with my daily tasks of producing quality forecasts, I have taken the lead on numerous large scale projects such as creating new weather graphics packages and producing severe weather and climate change specials. All of the meteorologists I have worked with over the years will tell you I am a self-starter, reliable, a great teammate, and kind person.
