Claim your profileI am the lead climate change and environment writer for The Christian Science Monitor (@csmonitor) and organize our climate coverage across desks and departments. Our approach to climate and environmental topics is both complex and progress-oriented; we recognize the networked connections between science and conservation, culture and politics, technical advancement and ecological relationships. As a journalist, I have worked to build partnerships with granting organizations, universities and audiences. I have reported across Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. My work has appeared in national and international publications such as USA Today, The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor, Smithsonian Magazine, and The Economist. I authored the critically acclaimed book, “White Man’s Game: Saving Animals, Rebuilding Eden and Other Myths of Conservation in Africa." I created and currently teach courses at Yale University and the College of William & Mary that build relationships with academics and help them translate their research for a broad public audience. I have had multiple grants with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and was an Alicia Patterson Journalism Fellow.
