My reporting has appeared in The Atlantic, The Economist, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, among other publications. I was previously based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, where I covered that dynamic country and others throughout West Africa. Before that, I was the Pentagon correspondent for Federal Computer Week, covering how defense and intelligence agencies approach cyberspace. I was also a contributing writer for The Washington Diplomat, where I interviewed sitting ambassadors and other power brokers in international relations.
