Claim your profileScott Swan began working for WTHR in 2002 and anchors Central Indiana's #1 rated 6:00pm and 11:00pm newscasts for 13News. In 2023 Swan won Emmy awards for Best Feature and Human-Interest Reporter and Best Military story. In 2022 Swan was honored with Emmy awards for his Olympic pre-trip stories in Japan and the story that chronicled his wife's successful fight against breast cancer. Swan has led WTHR's coverage of the Olympics for two decades by traveling to Greece (2004), Italy (2006), China (2008), Canada (2010), England (2012), Russia (2014), Brazil (2016), Japan (2021), France (2024) and Italy (2026). In 2019, Swan was honored with the national Sigma Delta Chi award for TV Feature Reporting for his story about the "Bearded Painter." It is a story about an Indiana man who miraculously became a gifted painter after suffering a health issue similar to a stroke. In 2008 Swan was honored with a National Edward R. Murrow award and a National Headliner award for "Mission Complete" - a story about an Indiana Marine who lost both legs in a roadside bomb attack in Iraq. Swan has landed many exclusives during his WTHR career. He was the only Indianapolis reporter to conduct an interview with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in his Las Vegas home. Prior to his career at WTHR, Swan worked at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, KITV-TV in Honolulu, KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, KHJ-TV in Los Angeles, and Disneyland Broadcast Services. Swan enjoys talking about his Christian faith and speaks at churches and prisons across Indiana. He also volunteers with the Lamplighter Ministry Inc. in Indianapolis. Swan is the author of a 365-day devotion called, "The Hope You Need Today." Swan graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from Pepperdine University in 1985. He married his high school sweetheart, Janae'. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
