Hi! I am a job developer/career advisor as well as a writer, accessibility consultant, and educator. EMPLOYMENT SUPPORTI currently work as a Job Developer working with both employers and job seekers facing barriers to employment. Adopting a collaborative, empathetic approach, I ensure that job matches are mutually beneficial, supporting both the employment on their recruitment goals and helping clients find meaningful employment that align with their interests. CONSULTING/POLICYWith experience in consulting, I have worked with private and public sector companies to support their implementation of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA). This included analyzing company policies and assessing how they comply with the ACA, consulting with employees and stakeholders with disabilities, as well as developing surveys and analyzing survey data for accessibility barriers. I have developed ACA-compliant Accessibility Plans for clients, and gained in-depth knowledge of accessibility legislation -- including the ACA, AODA and OHRC -- and accessibility best practices. EDUCATION I've also worked in higher education in accessibility services, where I've supported students with disabilities, identified their needs and set up individual accommodation plans, and advocated for their academic success. Throughout my work in education and consulting, I've also developed and led workshops for business, professors and academic staff on disability sensitivity, the duty to accommodate and accessibility legislation. I also currently teach content writing and storytelling to college students at Blanche Macdonald College, a Vancouver-based career college. WRITINGAs a freelance writer, I have also published numerous articles about my lived experience with disability and accessibility for publications in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. including the Toronto Star, Quartz, Metro U.K, PBS' Rewire, and The Muse. Further, I have written about topics such as technology, travel, film and TV and culture for media outlets such as Android Central, Android Headlines, Daily News Hungary, Arts Help, MovieWeb, and more. MORE ABOUT ME I have achieved my Bachelor of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University, as well as a Masters of Education, with a focus on Student Development and Student Services in Higher Education, at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
