Claim your profileI am a journalist drawn to science, technology and environment. For me science isn't just a subject. It's a powerful storytelling and investigative tool. *I blend fieldwork with deep dives into scientific literature and policy—chasing stories on the ground, in jargon-laced scientific conferences and in the fine print. *Whether it’s walking through mangroves to probe restoration claims or decoding a research paper tracing pathways of antimicrobial resistance or making bacteria count numbers, I use the understanding of cutting-edge science and it's interfaces with policy, law and diplomacy, to uncover evidence and narratives often hidden in plain sight. *In doing so I try to connect the dots between data, people, and the planet and make evidence-based information accessible to the public and policymakers.*I carry on my professional practice as Nature India's Associate Editor contributing to editorial function and strategy - it's a bit like being the Air Traffic Control with writing, editing, commissioning and plenty of brainstorming with scientists/experts. I dabble in responsible AI practices at work and I like being organized. Before joining the Nature Publishing Group, I was a Contributing Editor at Mongabay India handling multiple reporting projects on climate change, conservation science, biodiversity and solutions journalism. *I curate media grant proposals, raise funds and execute media projects end-to-end.* In 2023, I was a journalist in residence at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, looking at the history of scientific studies in the Indian Ocean with a focus on paleo and archival records. I am also a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network and a founder-member of the Science Journalists Association of India, helping bolster science journalism in the country and beyond. Outside of work, I go for heritage walks, dabble in pottery, and dive into pop culture and comics. Fan of Harry Potter and Heartstopper.
