Claim your profileI'm currently a TV meteorologist/weather forecaster in the Twin Ports/Northland region (northwest Wisconsin, northeast Minnesota, and western Upper Michigan). I will be finishing my meteorology degree in the summer of 2023. I have been interested in weather since growing up on my family's dairy farm. One learns how quickly the forecast for the day impacts the work one needs to do. My first experience in media was with radio. I became well experienced in how to work a sound board, production of a show both live and pre-recorded, as well as basic engineering. Since transitioning from TV to radio to be a meteorologist, I have picked up how to work with a green screen and weather programs that help create a forecast presentation. Both mediums have also taught me to write for on-air and online publications. As a journalist, I see my work as a service the community that I work for. I want to make sure that people are aware of what is going in their neighborhoods. It's not just about fires, accidents, weather disasters, etc. It's about what their local governments are discussing and considering doing that will impact their daily lives more so than what happens at the state and federal government level. Also, it's the stories that make the area unique because of what local groups, organizations, and businesses do on an annual or infrequent basis.
