Claim your profileI'm a news reporter interested in telling the most compelling stories about the entertainment industry and the people and creators who make it run, as well as starting conversations with readers. I started as a music journalist in Baltimore, MD, before switching to business news, covering real estate development. I joined the Wall Street Journal in 2010 to cover the housing market. Over the last decade, I've had several beats: commercial property investment, real estate stocks, shipping companies and logistics, health and science focused on the pandemic. From 2016 to 2020 I was a foreign correspondent in the WSJ's Mexico City bureau, writing about politics, economics, the drug war, migration, and business across Latin America and the Caribbean. In January, 2022, I started as a reporter covering the Walt Disney Co. and other big Hollywood studios. Any tips or story ideas are warmly welcomed: I'm robbie.whelan@wsj.com
