The website link on this page leads to an open Google Drive folder with a portfolio of my ongoing work at the Logan Daily News.I am a young journalist who, following a couple years post-graduation in manual labor, got his foot in the door at a mid-sized town's local newspaper. I have moderate experience in longer-form academic writing focused on 20th century American intellectual and political history, as well as literary and film criticism and legal argumentation. Aside from the drier aspects of reporting, I have keen interest in highlighting issues of systemic injustice and bureaucratic incompetence, its victims, and the passionate humans who work tirelessly to correct those social ills. My goals and ambitions lie in expanding readers' knowledge of the deeply flawed and frustrating world around them, and explaining complex social problems in a coherent fashion without inducing cynicism. My career is still in its earliest stages, but I hope to fashion it after the long-form nonfiction writers and thoughtful social critics I grew up admiring.
