Claim your profilePeter is a general nurse by background with a long career of research about the nursing workforce. He has been involved in the evaluation of innovations in service delivery, including nurse-led sub-acute care and, more recently, the national roll out of the “Productive Ward, Releasing Time to Care” programme in England and two provinces of Canada. His current programme of research explores issues of workforce effectiveness using routinely collected data and the development and use of nurse sensitive outcomes and quality measures. As director of England’s National Nursing Research he was lead author of “State of the Art Metrics for Nursing: a rapid appraisal” and co-author of “Nurses in Society: starting the debate” which were both commissioned to inform the chief nursing officer’s contribution to the Next Stage Review of the NHS in England.Specialties: Health Services Research, Workforce, Nursing
