Claim your profileWith over 25 years of work experience, I am a seasoned technology editor, author, and journalist with a passion for exploring the implications and applications of emerging technologies in the fields of national security and foreign policy. I have a master's degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University and a strong background in science journalism and editing. I am currently the science and technology editor at Defense One, a news site dedicated to the future of national security and foreign policy, where I lead the coverage of new uses of tech in warfare, information warfare, cybersecurity, and technology policy among other areas.As the technology editor at Defense One, I have reported on topics such as AI, cybernetics, nanotechnology, genetics, climate change, demography, and emergency management. I have also conducted investigations into Russian and Chinese military activity and U.S. Defense Department activities. I have leveraged my skills in editorial, social networking, and marketing communications to reach a wide and diverse audience of readers, policymakers, and stakeholders. I have also authored a book, The Naked Future: What Happens in a World That Anticipates Your Every Move?, which was published by Penguin in 2014 and was an Amazon Best Book of the Month. I am have traveled extensively to cover stories from different regions and perspectives.
