Previously a multi-platform reporter and online producer at CBC News.Toronto is home and a city that I love, but I've been very fortunate to report in the Arctic (Iqaluit) and in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The personal and professional experiences I gained living in other parts of Canada are priceless and gave me invaluable perspective — and left me with even more questions I continue to explore. I’ve been a journalist for more than 15 years, but came to the profession in an unconventional way, which has served me well: I developed my love of storytelling and drive to become a reporter through working for UNICEF, where I had the opportunity to meet incredible people overcoming often unspeakable adversity and tell their stories in Sudan, Sri Lanka and Lebanon. That’s when I left UNICEF to earn my Master’s degree in Journalism at Columbia University in New York. Strong believer that interpersonal skills, sense of humour and passion for journalism are vital in this fantastic profession.
