Naomi Canton

Naomi Canton covers the UK for Times of India and occasionally freelances for other publications. She is a senior journalist. NCTJ-qualified and trained on the British regional press. She has lived and worked as a journalist in India, the UK and Japan. She graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Oriental Studies and was later awarded MA (Oxon.) Her previous roles include Digital Editor at Asia House and Special Correspondent at The Hindustan Times in Mumbai. Her interest in journalism began when she was just a teenager and she opted to do work experience at school at The Reading Chronicle. Her love of Asia began when she chose to read Oriental Studies at Oxford. In 2024 she was conferred the International Writers Award 2024 by the International Commission of Writers and Jurists.
