Claim your profileI've been a full-time journalist at The Santa Barbara Independent since 1999 and have worked in nearly every facet of weekly newspaper and daily website publishing. I've also been a contributing editor/writer-at-large for Wine Enthusiast since 2014, reviewing more than 200 wines every month from across the Central Coast and Southern California. I've written for the New York Times, TIME Magazine, Smithsonian, Wine Spectator, and many other publications; speak frequently on wine, food, and other topics; and serve as a volunteer on boards and/or committees for the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience, Notes for Notes, the Chrisman Channel Islands Center / Santa Cruz Island Foundation, and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. In 2009, I co-founded the New Noise Santa Barbara Music Conference & Festival, which ran annually through 2016.
