I now write full-time, but in the past I have taught philosophy and social science at a number of universities in the UK and Australia, and been involved in a research project at Leeds University under George MacDonald Ross into exploring ways to shift philosophy teaching away from the mere study of philosophical facts and toward a view of philosophy as an activity. As well as editing The Philosopher, I co-founded and edit a blog called www.philosophical-investigations and review books. Previously this was for the Times Higher Education, now it is for Reedsy Discovery. I have contributed to numerous publications including the economics pages at the Guardian, the environment blog at the Daily Telegraph and the popular US 'for Dummies' site.
