Claim your profileMarian Faa is a multiple awarding-winning journalist with the ABC's Asia Pacific Newsroom. Born in Papua New Guinea, her reporting focuses on the Pacific.She has undertaken challenging international assignments, including covering high-profile elections in Fiji and Timor-Leste, as well as reporting on the highly sensitive topic of abortion in the Pacific. Marian's investigative work saw her become Queensland's New Journalist of the Year in 2020, for her exclusive coverage of Australia's COVID-19 military drug trial. Prior to her role with the Asia Pacific Newsroom, Marian worked as video journalist with ABC Far North based in Cairns. She led the ABC's national coverage of key stories, including a landmark human rights complaint lodged by Torres Strait Islanders against the Australian Government and has reported for 7.30, AM and other flagship programs.
