As a podcast producer / reporter at KCUR Studios in Kansas City, I help investigate questions and local curiosities in a way that brings listeners along for adventures with plot twists and thought-provoking ideas. Sometimes there isn’t an easy answer in the end – but my hope is that we all leave with a greater understanding of the city we live in.In 2022, my podcast, Kansas City's Barbecue King, was a finalist for a James Beard Award for Audio Reporting, won a national PMJA award in the Short Documentary category, and was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow award in the Podcast category.I also report national radio features for places like Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Marketplace and Here & Now.In another life, I was a talkshow producer for KCUR's Up To Date and Central Standard. I also created We Live Up Here and Curious North for WXPR Public Radio in northern Wisconsin, where I doubled as the Morning Edition host.In addition to holding an undergraduate degree in media & cultural studies from Macalester College, I also have extensive experience as an IT help desk consultant (have you tried turning it off?) and leading people hesitant to drink straight olive oil in olive oil tastings.
