Claim your profileLZ Granderson is an OpEd columnist for The Los Angeles Times, a contributor for ABC News and educator. He currently hosts “The LZ Granderson Show“ podcast and was creator of ABC Audio’s “Life Out Loud with LZ Granderson,“ the network’s first LGBTQ-focused podcast. Since joining ABC News in 2015, the Emmy-award winner has been focused on sports, culture, policies and politics in his work. During his time at ABC, Granderon has covered the Inauguration or President Trump, the US Open in Flushing Meadows and New York’s pride parade, the largest in the country. Prior to ABC, Granderson was a columnist and contributor for CNN, helping to cover the 2012 general election, the uprisings in Ferguson and the funeral of Michael Brown. Currently a journalism professor at his alma mater, Granderon was a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and the Hechinger Institute at Columbia University. He spent more than 17 years at ESPN in a variety of roles, including NBA editor, co-host of the television show "SportsNation”; radio host, and a columnist for Page 2 where he wrote about the intersection of sports and politics.
