Claim your profileLoren Holmes is a staff photojournalist at the Anchorage Daily News, and a member of a team that was awarded the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. He has extensive experience working in rural Alaska and has covered the 1,000-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race eight times.His work has been recognized with awards from the National Press Photographers Association, Alaska Press Club, Society of Professional Journalists, and Best of the West. A portfolio of his photography received an honorable mention in the 2016 NPPA Best of Photojournalism contest - Photojournalist of the Year (Small Market). In 2017, he wrote a successful proposal that made ADN the first large news organization in Alaska to incorporate drones into their reporting.He holds a BA in philosophy from Carleton College and a MA in photojournalism from the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University.
