I love the written word, all types of writing and spelling and some of my favourite subjects include Brussels, the environment, sustainability, cycling, books, education, architecture, travel, theatre and the arts, and anything to do with children.I have also written for general interest, business, culture and Brussels-based publications.I’m a member of the National Union of Journalists, the GRACQ – an organisation campaigning for people who cycle every day and the Brussels Childbirth Trust (BCT). I run the BCT book club. In the past I was on the board of the English Comedy Club and produced a Turgenev play ‘A Month in the Country’ as well as doing numerous backstage tasks. I was a member of the National Childrens’ Orchestra (grade 8 flute, grade 3 piano) some time ago… and also came joint second in the UK national girls’ under 14 chess championships.
