Hello there! I'm Lindsay. I'm not your average writer. I was born and raised in Northern Michigan. I grew up dogsled racing, ice fishing, and deer hunting. Since then I've lived in Alaska, Colorado, and now Washington state, on Suquamish land. I split my time between two of my favorite passions: personal finance, and the environment. I grew up being bad at money. I know what it's like to get red envelopes in the mail, and to have to put the peanut butter back when checking out at the grocery store. Since then, I've reframed my relationship wtih money, and I love sharing that knowledge with others so they can live a better life. I write how-to explainers for managing your money, as well as product reviews for credit cards, bank accounts, and more. I have a close relationship with the land, and the things that live on it. That's what led me to my original career: wildlife biology. I helped raise a herd of caribou during my undergrad, and developed lab techniques to better understand them and their relationship with plants for my master's thesis. Today, I honor those connections by telling stories about people's relationships with the environment in the Pacific Northwest. I am open for new opportunities.
