Claim your profileLauren Warnecke is currently editor/senior writer at See Chicago Dance and contributes to Chicago Tribune, Dance Magazine and Pointe, among others. Career highlights include dance writing residencies at the National Center for Choreography (2017-18) and Bates Dance Festival (2018-19). In 2018, Lauren co-facilitated a critical writing intensive for the JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Experience in South Africa, which led to See Chicago Dance’s Critical Writing Fellowship in 2020, a collaboration between writers from three continents. With degrees in dance and kinesiology, Lauren has taught dance kinesiology, exercise science and dance history for over a decade. She presented her research on aesthetic competence and cross-training for dancers at the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, the National Dance Education Organization and the Midwest Sport and Exercise Psychology Symposium.
