She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism, through ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and Barrett, the Honors College. She currently works as deputy food editor at the San Francisco Standard and was formerly lead editor at Eater San Francisco, supervising a team of reporters who cover food and beverage, dining and nightlife news across the Bay Area and Northern California. Lauren's focuses include food and beverage, art/culture, and photography. Her cover story "Flour Power," about bread and grain in Phoenix, won first place in the "Newspaper Food Feature" category of the Association of Food Journalists Awards.
