Murrow-awarded journalist who writes digital and audio stories about local government, Hurricane Helene recovery and arts and culture in Asheville and Buncombe County for Blue Ridge Public Radio, a NPR member station in Western North Carolina. My work has been published in NPR, Marketplace, Grist, Eater, Mountain Xpress, Inside Appalachia and The Infatuation. I've also appeared on live talk shows including All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Due South, 1A and Charlotte Talks. A few of my specialties include housing, local government, and food and beverage — but I've covered everything from high school athletics and experimental agriculture to general elections.
