I'm a writer and journalist with a decade of experience covering the banking industry in particular. Personally, I blame the 2008 financial crisis for this. I never intended to get into financial journalism, but decided I needed to learn more about our financial system after the crash (which happened approx. 6 minutes after I entered the workforce). That personal interest, combined with my prior reporting experience, led me to a Boston-based trade publication where I covered community banks and credit unions throughout New England. More recently, I wrote for American Banker, where I covered national and regional banks and developed a specialty in environmental, social and governance issues facing the industry. I'm now director of research with the Nashville-based Bank Director, where I collaborate on long-term, topical research and education for bank directors and CEOs.
