Claim your profileI am a journalist with over two decades of radio, print, web, and television experience at the national level, as well as medium and small markets. In my current position I am a news director and frequent host for the local broadcast of NPR News programs. I also serve as executive producer and guest host for the award-winning show and podcast In Focus with Carolyn Hutcheson. My work as a reporter and producer has been heard on: All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Up First, Weekend Edition Saturday, Weekend Edition Sunday, Here & Now, Marketplace, the BBC, and frequently on NPR's Hourly Newscast. I have produced and reported investigative stories for ABC News that were broadcast on Good Morning America and contributed to enterprise stories that aired on Nightline. In July 2020 I covered funeral services for Congressman John Lewis in Selma, AL for DW News. In April 2023 I reported on the scene of a mass shooting in Dadeville, AL for NPR and BBC News. As a print and web journalist, I've written and contributed to stories for NPR.org and ABCNews.com. My primary training is in investigative and political reporting, with a solid foundation in producing arts and cultural features. In my current role as Director of Radio, I supervise: the news division, a daily talk show, underwriting, development/fundraising, programming, operations, the radio reading program, and an internship program. I have also worked in the performing arts as both an administrator and classical musician.
