Claim your profileWith six years of experience as a journalist, I am passionate about covering education issues and informing the public about the challenges and opportunities facing students, teachers and communities. As an Education Reporter at The Baltimore Banner, I mostly focus on the Baltimore County Public School system, the third-largest in Maryland, and its diverse and dynamic population of over 110,000 students and 18,000 staff.Previously, I was a staff writer at The Chronicle of Philanthropy, where I produced stories that helped the general public learn more about how their giving and volunteering affects their communities. I also covered education for the Carroll County Times, where I exposed the racial imbalance between the school system's staff and students, and the efforts to improve it. I started my professional career at The Enterprise in St. Mary's County, where I won the 2019 MDDC Rookie of the Year for my coverage of the community. I hold a Master of Arts in Journalism from American University and a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Communications from Wesley College.
