Claim your profileDr Kevin Robinson is an ex-scientist turned publishing professional with more than 25 years of editorial, layout and production experience in the business-to-business and contract-publishing sectors. Offering writing, editing, proofing, contract publishing and consultation services to the life science industry (and beyond), Dr Kev embarked on a solo freelancing career at some point in the dim and distant past and is open for business.A driven, experienced project manager who is able to work effectively and independently, as well as in a team environment, he's an excellent communicator and organiser with a strong educational background in the life sciences and a history of successful healthcare-related (business and technology) publication launches. Dr Kev is good under pressure and able to hit outcome deadlines — on budget and on time — and achieve results using a solutions-based approach.Kevin has previously been employed by both large and small publishing and event companies, as Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief, where he was responsible for the editorial content, direction and integrity of the publications and products he worked on — from researching the market and identifying trends to commissioning, editing and writing. He has a history of launching new life science magazines and creating gala dinner awards events.A published research scientist, Dr Robinson has a BTEC HND and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology, and PhD in microbial biochemistry from the University of Bath. He studied molecular biology at the University of Maryland during a post-doctoral placement but soon realised he was a better editor than researcher. Kevin is a travel junkie, a keen amateur photographer and competes in the very occasional triathlon.
