Claim your profileHi I feel very fortunate that people on Vancouver Island have been willing to share their stories with me for more than two decades.I'm based in Nanaimo but on any given day I can be found reporting anywhere north of Cobble Hill. From Tofino, Ucluelet on the west coast to Port Hardy or Port McNeill in the north or closer to home in Parksville, Qualicum Beach or Nanaimo.I'm a regional reporter first but I love reporting on all kinds of interesting, strange and outrageous stories. If you would like to share your story with Vancouver Island's largest newscast I'd be honoured to tell yours. Message me and we can discuss it. TV may seem intimidating at first but I've walked making first-timer's through the process of being interviewed. And if your story is of a sensitive nature I will protect my sources. After graduating with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism at BCIT I headed to the Comox Valley for my first gig, working as a reporter / desker at 97.3 The Eagle. I was hired three years later at CHEK News and was based in Port Alberni for four years. CHEK then moved me to Nanaimo where I've been since. I'm also a current member of the Canadian Association of Journalists.Outside of work you might find me with my family. I have two young children and I'm currently on parental leave until Sept. 2016. I love all sports including snowboarding, floor hockey, tennis and badminton.
