From thoughtful critical analysis of trending movies and TV to stories of identity and belonging, I take care in working with writers to celebrate the many facets of the Black diaspora. As Deputy Director, Global of Unbothered, I oversee content across the UK, U.S., and Canada. W R I T I N G My words have appeared in various reputable publications like Cosmopolitan, ELLE Canada, Corduroy Magazine, The Kit, The Toronto Star and LaineyGossip.com. As the senior writer at Refinery29 Canada, I wrote about the unbearable whiteness of Canadian TV, launched my column WHAT'S GOOD about the best in TV and film, and tackled various topics like racism in the workplace and the impact on racial trauma on our bodies. I am proud to use my voice to write about diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. As someone who has worked in the entertainment industry for 10+ years, I have a unique skill set and perspective. At Refinery29 Unbothered, I write celebrity profiles, movie and TV reviews, and report on everything from inspiring women changing the game in their industries, to the changing face of fashion week, to the latest in social justice. P R O D U C I N G My experience in television is extensive. I’ve worked some of the biggest media outlets in North America: MuchMusic, MTV and CTV. For six seasons, I was the celebrity and entertainment segment producer at The Social, a national live daytime talk show. Not only did I produce clear, concise and creative segments with A-list talent, I thrived developing content for experts in diverse areas. I’ve been responsible for creating memorable moments that contributed to the show’s success. My background in live and taped television has also given me excellent organizational, time-management and communication skills. I have thrived in environments where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple jobs is the norm. Bottom line: I am a competent, productive and passionate writer and producer who lives for news and pop culture, has a bevy of industry contacts and is brimming with ideas.
