Claim your profileThe lone woman to do play-by-play for the NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA football, the Olympics and a FIFA World Cup, Kate Scott - the television voice of the Philadelphia 76ers - continues to break barriers as a leader in sports broadcasting. Scott attended UC Berkeley, majoring in communications and graduating in 2005. Soon after, she joined Metro Networks as a reporter, anchor, and producer providing traffic, news, and sports updates for a number of Bay Area radio stations. Between shifts, Scott hosted Cal football's postgame radio show and produced and voiced the TechCrunch podcast for Stitcher. In 2011, Scott was hired as the morning and midday sports anchor at KNBR 680-AM, the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors radio flagship. During her time at KNBR, she also served as the television sideline reporter for the San Jose Earthquakes and San Jose Giants and called local high school football.In 2016, Scott became the first woman to call an NFL game on the radio en route to joining the Pac-12 Network that fall. In 2017, Scott became the first woman to call football for the Network. During her Pac-12 tenure she also called WCC and A-10 hoops for the NBC Sports Network and NBC Sports Bay Area. On International Women’s Day in March 2020, Scott was part of the first-ever all-women’s broadcast crew for an NHL game in the United States, providing play-by-play alongside Olympic Gold Medal-winning analysts A.J. Mleczko and Kendall Coyne Schofield.In March 2021, Scott became the first female play-by-play announcer for the Golden State Warriors.In June 2021, she became the first woman to call men’s Copa América and Gold Cup soccer for Fox.During the 2020 Summer Olympics (held in July 2021), Scott provided play-by-play for various men’s and women’s basketball games on NBC and its family of networks.In August 2021, Scott joined analyst Mike Golic Sr. for Learfield's newly launched "College Football Saturday Night." The national game of the week aired on over 110 terrestrial radio stations in the U.S. In August 2022, Scott covered the U20 Women's World Cup, followed by the FIFA Women's World Cup in July 2023. In August 2023, Scott became the preseason television voice for the NFL's Seattle Seahawks.In February 2024, Scott covered the inaugural W Gold Cup for CBS.In June 2024, Scott was named as one of four new announcers - and the first ever female voice - to commentate in Madden 25, the best-selling sports video game in the US. Scott currently resides in Philadelphia with her wife and rescue pitbull, Piper.
