Claim your profileI'm a foreign correspondent based in Mexico City for the Los Angeles Times. Since joining the newspaper in 2008, I've covered immigration, local and national politics, and reported from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. A series of stories I wrote about Mexico’s homicide crisis won the Sigma Delta Chi Award for Foreign Correspondence. I've won two Overseas Press Club awards, am a two-time Livingston Awards finalist and was part of a team of journalists that won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news. My freelance work has appeared in outlets including The New Yorker and National Geographic. I grew up in New Mexico and graduated from Barnard College.
