Claim your profileAs an editor at Blavity U, the student-focused division of Blavity Inc., I onboard and manage upwards of 20 student ambassadors who aspire to become media professionals. I also interview celebrities and key figures regarding their most recent projects and initiatives, and work with the Blavity U Culture Editor to maintain the editorial calendar. With over 10 years of experience in content creation, I bring authenticity, creativity, and diversity to any role I function in.My career in media started in 2009 as an undergrad at Long Island University, where I studied psychology and wrote columns for the campus newspaper. Since then, I have contributed to various platforms and publications, such as EBONY Magazine, Daily Mail News, Madame Noire, and Single Black Male, covering topics ranging from cultural commentary, current events, news, and sports. Much of my work involves the amplification of Black voices and perspectives, and the exploration of how we can seek to be better for one another as a people. In 2020, I brought my renowned opinion column "Damn, He Got a Point" to EBONY Magazine, and in 2021, I was a contributor to the young adult anthology WILD TONGUES CAN'T BE TAMED, where I chronicled growing up in Brooklyn as a Black Panamanian. My mission is to inspire, inform, and entertain through storytelling, and to give back to the next generation of media makers.
