Since taking on the topic in 2015, Justin’s features, columns and cover stories have taken readers around the world to unpack a wide range of topics to illustrate how climate change is reshaping our world. He previously covered health and breaking news at TIME.Justin has received a variety of awards for his journalism. In 2022, he was named the inaugural Climate Journalist of the Year by Covering Climate Now, a non-profit launched by the Columbia Journalism Review and others to advance climate journalism. Justin serves as a founding steering committee member at the Uproot Project, a non-profit that works to diversify environmental journalism. He is a visiting fellow in journalism at the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute. Justin graduated from Harvard College where he studied history.
