She has been nominated for her investigative and determined journalism by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, the Canadian Association of Journalists, and the National Magazine Awards. She aims to tell captivating stories through print, broadcast and social media. She has reported from disaster zones, investigated abuse in the Temporary Foreign Workers program, interviewed terror suspects and shone a light on sexual assault in corporate Canada and the music industry. Judy is committed to providing a voice for people who are marginalized and strives to be both critical and compassionate in her reporting. She mentors immigrant journalists at New Canadian Media and believes that strong journalism requires diverse voices. In 2017, Judy's story of fleeing Vietnam inspired a Heritage Minute that marked Canada's humanitarian efforts on the country's 150th birthday.
