Claim your profileAfter graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Winnipeg in 1984, I worked a variety of jobs before following my passion for writing. I took the Creative Communications course at Red River College, but left halfway through my second year when I was offered a news reporter job at the Winnipeg Sun in January 1988. I was a general news reporter, law courts beat reporter and assistant city editor until I happily accepted a move to the sports department in 1992. I covered everything from amateur sports to university sports to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Manitoba Moose. I left the paper after having another child in 2000. I've since been a freelance writer and editor for newspapers, lifestyles and business magazines, and everything in between.I've kept up my love of sports as a freelancer for The Canadian Press since 2002. In June 2010, I became editor of The Cottager magazine, but stepped down in April 2016.
