Claim your profileSince joining the San Francisco Chronicle in 2022, I have wrote about several general news topics, such as labor issues, transportation, the emergence of driverless cars, crime and wildfires. I also write quick-turn enterprise stories that provide context and analysis on the issues that affect the Bay Area. Before I joined the Chronicle, I attended Sacramento State University where I earned my Bachelors degree in journalism. While at Sac State, I became the first Black editor in chief of The State Hornet, the award-winning student-run newspaper at CSUS. I led a staff of over 60 editors, reporters, broadcasters, and photographers, and served as the public face of the newsroom. Under my leadership, the paper enacted its first-ever diversity initiative, which focused on covering underrepresented communities on campus. Reporting developed under the initiative won several national awards for social justice reporting. I also contributed to editorial writing and podcasting, earning recognition for both. My biggest motivation is to tell stories that matter and make a difference.
