Claim your profileMy name is John Hood and I am a MMJ/Reporter at NBC12 in Richmond, Va. Prior to WWBT I worked as an MMJ at WHSV-TV3 in Harrisonburg, Va. I worked at WHSV from November of 2018 to September 2021. In May of 2020, I was awarded by the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters as Best Video Journalist/One Man Band of 2019 for a small market. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA back in 2017. I studied Broadcast Journalism while I was there with a minor in General Business. While at VCU I interned for three different local new stations WAVY, WTVR, and WRIC. As an Intern, I went out with a reporter most days, pitched story ideas, worked on scripts, and edited video. While interning I was also a morning show producer for IHeartMedia Richmond.
