Claim your profileWhen I started out in my profession, we wrote stories on typewriters, received Associated Press copy via teletype machines and edited video on magnetic analog tape. The internet had not yet become a fixture and cell phones were something you'd see on television or in the movies. How we gather and disseminate information is obviously much different today and I'm proud of the fact that I've adapted to and embraced all of the changes. About 15 years ago it became readily apparent to me that the internet would become a game changer when it came to news delivery, so I began the transition from the broadcast side of things to the digital side. When this transition began, our station's web site was a step above an afterthought. Today wane.com is the most viewed news site in the market by a wide margin and our social media presence is also second to none. I'm sure the world will be much different in another 15 years, but I'll be ready to adapt to whatever changes occur. I'm eager to see what that world looks like.
