Claim your profileBlogger, number fan, Ohio River lover, journalist. Specialties: databases, photography, public documents, business reporting, curiosity. Boats, barges, bridges, and dams … power plants, commerce, environment, and sometimes politics … natural gas, banks, locomotives, and school buses … these are the things I write about. For fun I download various databases, analyze them and find trends worthy of sharing. Or I’m down by the Ohio River looking at the various forms of litter that have drifted down from upstream. Or I’m looking at hazmat placards on passing trains to see what’s moving and what’s not moving through my home area. With more than four decades of journalism behind me, I’m always looking for the next good story to tell. Put me in a low-head hydroelectric dam or in a bank president’s office where we can talk about changing market conditions, and I’ll give you something worth reading.
