Claim your profileI love great journalism, interesting stories and running newsrooms. I've edited the largest newspaper in New Zealand, edited an award-winning news website, run a large number of New Zealand's local papers and I am currently an executive editor at public broadcaster, Radio New Zealand. I have a special interest in journalism education and newsroom diversity. I have been an active member of NZ media bodies, including the Media Freedom Committee and the Media-Judicial Liaison committee. I have chaired the Journalism Training industry committee and been on the committee of AUT and Waiariki liaison boards. I have led newsrooms through some of the biggest news events of the last 20 years; elections, earthquakes, terrorism, disasters and Rugby World Cups. And, outside work, I am fascinated by the rise of China, so I did a Graduate Diploma at Auckland University majoring in Chinese Studies. And I am proud to be chair of a cancer charity, Neuroendocrine NZ (formerly Unicorn NZ), supporting our patients. A good communicator, natural team leader, smart and flexible. Specialties: Managing newsrooms, news production, maintaining content partnerships, editorial training, daily news management, news from hyperlocal to national.
