Claim your profileVersatile and offbeat writer and editor, comfortable everywhere from a sports arena to a concert hall to sitting one-on-one with an innovator in any field. Currently writing columns and features about mixed martial arts for the leading outlet covering the sport, ESPN. Formerly: More than 20 years as an editor for the nationally renowned daily newspaper sports section of The Boston Globe, where in addition to working in sports I also wrote arts features and co-authored a weekly column on the joy and challenge of parenting. I later was a founding member of a Disney Publishing team that launched Wondertime, a National Magazine Award-winning publication “for parents who love to read.” Deeper in the past, my focus was on covering emerging fields such as holistic health and spiritual wellbeing for New Age Journal (later known as Body + Soul). Specialties: features and columns blending color with whimsy. Sports, from MMA (UFC, etc.) to pro football to college basketball. Arts, mostly music and theater. Alternative cultural phenomena, such as the emergence of legal cannabis and its newly explored health benefits.
