My job requires focused and in depth reporting on the international courts including the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Coverage include updates on investigations, trials and hearings and judgments. I also write about the Netherlands and in particular Dutch politics, the economy and foreign policy. Previously I was the online editor at the Daily Dispatch newspaper in South Africa, leading a team of award-winning journalists in creating the country's first online investigative websites and breaking news blogs. I also have traveled extensively in southern and west Africa, covering the conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast and Liberia among other issues affecting the continent. I have covered politics in post-apartheid South Africa including the Mandela and Mbeki presidencies as well as worked as a crime reporter for various publications in the country.
