Claim your profileI cover energy for The New York Times. I joined the Times after working as the energy reporter for the Los Angeles Times. My career, which began in 1992, has included reporting positions at the Miami Herald, the Baltimore and the Tampa Bay Times. For more than 15 years, I have focused on utilities and energy. My background includes coverage of consumer issues, including writing a column, called The Consumer's Edge at the Tampa Bay Times. I also covered three mayors of Baltimore, two governors of Maryland and six years of the Maryland General Assembly. My career began as a computer-assisted reporter and researcher, skills that I continue to tap today.
