I am a Florida native and a graduate of Florida A&M University with a bachelor’s of science in public relations and more than a decade of experience in journalism. I've also held communications roles in various industries. As a journalist, I've covered several beats, such as entertainment, health, state and national politics as well as breaking news. While working as a newsletter editor, I was able to increase open rates from around 28% to consistently above 37%. As a reporter in Florida, I was awarded a fellowship in Washington D.C in 2022, completing a program on technology and data privacy used in health care, education and other industries. In 2024, I was awarded another journalism fellowing from the National Press Foundation in DC. In addition, I've managed media relations and gained earned media placements for clients in entertainment, health, politics and more. One of my clients in entertainment, Play of legendary hip hop group Kid 'N Play, was able to significantly increase awareness of his documentary film through my media pitches.
